For the treatment of occlusal hard substance defects in the posterior region, occlusion onlays have been introduced as a new minimally invasive treatment alternative.

Advantages:
The tooth hard substance losses caused by the preparation are significantly lower – and so are the biological risks.

Disadvantage:
Without special instruments, the preparation of occlusion onlays has so far been technically difficult.
